FAQ
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, you are welcome to a free 15 min consultation so that we have a chance to speak and determine if we would be a good fit. You’ll be able to ask me any question that you may have, and I can learn more about your situation to determine if my skills and experience match your needs.
Will my sessions be virtual or in-person?
All sessions are held virtually at this time.
Do you work with children and teens?
I work only with adults ages 18+.
Do you work with couples/families?
I currently offer only individual therapy.
Can I use my insurance?
Here is the process for using insurance. It may be helpful to first understand that each insurance plan is comprised of two components: in-network coverage and out-of-network coverage. All plans have in-network coverage and many/most have out-of-network coverage. I would be considered an out-of-network provider, so you would be able to use your out-of-network coverage. I would recommend that you call the number on the back of your insurance card to check your specific plan’s out-of-network benefits as they can vary greatly between plans. If you do decide to use your out-of-network coverage, I would accept payment upfront and will in return provide you with an electronic document called a Superbill after each session. You would then simply log in to your insurance online account and attach the document. I know this can sound daunting but it’s actually quite simple! The reimbursement from your insurance would then go directly to you. Most clients receive their reimbursement within 1-2 weeks after submitting the Superbill to their insurance, but this is entirely dependent on your insurance company.
Do you accept HSA or FSA?
Yes, you are welcome to use either a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Savings Account (FSA) to pay for your sessions.
How much does therapy cost?
Please reach out to get information regarding current rates. You’ll receive the cost information well in advance of your first appointment so that you can decide if it’s something that can work for you.
This is my first time seeking therapy and I don't know what to expect
No worries! It’s very common and normal to feel uncertain or anxious at this point. A good place to start may be to schedule a free phone consultation. From there, I’ll guide you through the process and answer any questions you might have.
How long does it take to feel better?
This varies from person to person. Some people feel a sense of relief after the first session, while for others it may take multiple sessions to start feeling a shift.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
I know that finding a therapist who’s a good fit for you can take some time and is an important part of your search. The best way to know if we are a good fit is to do a free consultation so you can decide if my therapeutic approach is a good fit for you. Usually we can determine if we’d be a good fit after one conversation. Please feel free to request a 15 min phone consultation by contacting me online or by calling (425) 526-4141 .
How can I contact you or make an appointment?
The best way to reach me is via the contact form here. I generally respond to inquiries within 1 business day. If you prefer, you can also reach out to me by phone and leave a voicemail.
